  • Paige Chan

    EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

    Paige is an attorney with nearly 20 years of experience in program management and legal advocacy. As Executive Director, she oversees strategy and partnerships to ensure effective case management for and advocacy on behalf of families affected by the Zero Tolerance Policy. 

    Prior to joining Together & Free, she played a critical role in the Ms. JP litigation, a class-action lawsuit that resulted in a historic court order requiring the government to provide mental health services to separated families. Paige also launched and led a national effort to coordinate mental health referrals for Ms. JP class members. Paige earned her Bachelors from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and law degree from University of Michigan Law School.

  • Lily Spencer

    OPERATIONS MANAGER

    Lily is originally from Atlanta, GA, and earned her Bachelor's of Social Work from the University of Georgia. As Operations Manager, Lily focuses her efforts on national resource mapping, maintaining key network connections with partner organizations, and creating internal systems and protocols in order to better and more efficiently serve families in need of services.

    Prior to Together & Free, she completed two years of Peace Corps service in Guatemala where she worked with local youth and has held various roles working with families and communities within the U.S. She is passionate about removing barriers for individuals and young people to access the resources they need in order to thrive.

  • Rosa Sanchez

    SENIOR CASE MANAGER

    Rosa was born in Los Angeles, CA, and raised in Oaxaca, Mexico. She later returned to the U.S. with her mom and brother, and was homeless until age 16. She is a rape and trafficking survivor, a wife, and a mother. Rosa is passionate about working with immigrant and refugee families, victims of crime, disabled children, and those suffering from addiction and homelessness.

    As Senior Case Manager, Rosa works on fielding requests for families' urgent needs such as housing, food, and clothing. Rosa also assists families with completing work permit applications, school enrollment, and making referrals to partner organizations for other critical needs.

  • Fabiola Mather

    CASE MANAGER

    Fabiola was born in Managua, Nicaragua, and was raised in Miami, FL. She crossed the U.S./Mexican border at age 4 along with her mother and sisters, and later sought asylum. Fabiola graduated with a Bachelors in International Affairs from Florida State University and Masters in Global Affairs and Human Security from University of Baltimore. She later completed a year of service with AmeriCorps VISTA in the Washington D.C. public school system.

    At Together & Free, Fabiola supports hundreds of families by ensuring they have access to the resources and services they need to begin the rebuilding and healing process after reunification.

  • Johana De León

    CASE MANAGER

    Johana De León was born and raised in Coahuila, Mexico, and became an undocumented Texan in 2000 and is now a DACA recipient. Johana’s personal experiences have informed her commitment to immigrants’ rights.

    Before Together & Free, Johana worked in different organizations providing legal advocacy to detained individuals, intentional case management, and support with USCIS filings. In her spare time you can find Johana enjoying the outdoors in Texas or spoiling her little nieces with joy and love.

  • Gabriel Laborde Torres

    Gabriel Laborde Torres

    ATTORNEY

    Gabriel Laborde Torres is an attorney who has been practicing immigration law since 2016. He graduated from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law and is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania. He has represented numerous clients across the United States in proceedings before the Immigration Court, assisting asylum seekers with their claims.
